Classes

1. All classes are only presented over Zoom or Whatsapp video call. Classes are still given individually (one child at a time).

CLASS FEES

1. The math class fees are determined for a year and then divided by 11 to make payments easier. There are approximately 33 classes per year, divided into 4 terms. There is not necessarily the same number of classes in each month or each term, but the amount payable per month stays the same. If a child starts classes in the middle of the year, costs will be calculated pro-rata.
2. Any additional classes (more than 33 classes per year) can be bought at R 225 per class. These classes must be paid in advance.
3. No classes will be given during school holidays. I will announce the beginning- and end- dates of each term will be announced as the year progresses.
4. Class fees are payable before or on the fifth day of each month, even if that day is during the school holiday or not. In school holidays arrangements can be made in advance to bring the money or it can be paid with EFT or YOCO card payment.

ATTENDANCE

1. Please let me know in advance (at least 24 hours before the class, if possible) if a Zoom-class cannot be attended.
2. If a child is ill and you send me a photo of the doctor’s note, I will reschedule the Zoom-class or give money back. If I do not receive a doctor’s note within one week of the cancelled class, the class will count as given.
3. If you must attend a family funeral in the time of the class, send me a photo of the funeral letter, and I will reschedule the Zoom-class or give money back.
4. If a child cannot attend the Zoom-class due to other reasons, such as for example sport, camping, culture, parties, etc, and you let me no more than 24 hours in advance, the class can be postponed. Only 1 class per term can be postponed for these reasons. If you’ve already postponed 1 class for the term or cancelled a class with less than 24 hours’ notice, the class will count as given.
5. If a child does not show for a Zoom-class and nothing was arranged prior to class, I accept after 15 minutes that the child is not coming, and the class is over.
6. Five minutes before the class starts, type in the meeting ID and password or click on the link that I will provide. If the child does not sign in, I’ll ask after 5 min if you are fine logging in. If no one replies, I’ll wait until you are ready, but I only wait for 15 min, after that I assume that you’re not logging in and the class counts as given.
7. If you struggle logging in, please let me know so that we can rather do whatsapp video call and don’t waste precious class time.
8. If a child is late for a Zoom-class, the class unfortunately still ends at the original ending time.
9. If you are going to be late, please send a message, then I know to wait for you, but I still can’t go past the original ending time of the lesson.

ENDING OF CLASSES

10. If you want to end classes, you must give a month’s notice in advance, in writing and during the first week of the month. If for example give notice in the beginning of March, classes will continue during March and the fees are payable at the end of March. The classes will end from April. I also reserve the right to give a month’s notice and end classes.

STATIONARY

11. Every child must please have the following available during their math Zoom-class:
o Paper (or a book) to practice on
o pen, pencil and ruler
o Math textbook and school workbooks
o Written tests and exam papers
o calculator (from Gr. 7) – CASIO fx-82ZA PLUS
o protractor, compass (from Gr. 6)
The child can better benefit from the class if he/she has the above-mentioned items with him/her.

12. After Zoom-class: The notes that I make during the class, will be send the child after the class. Please note as I give math classes till well into the evenings, I’ll sometimes send the notes only late in the evening.
